JRS President's Message:
Let's figure out the wonders of the lungs
The JRS 2025 Annual Meeting takes place in Tokyo at the Tokyo International Forum from Friday, April 11 to Sunday, April 13, 2025.
JRS held its first annual meeting in 1961, and 2025 marks our 65th annual meeting. We currently have over 13,500 members. Pulmonologists and healthcare professionals made efforts to care for patients suffering from COVID-19 and received a big compliment. In addition to respiratory infections, a broad range of respiratory diseases, including asthma, COPD, lung cancer, and interstitial lung disease, have presented their own complex challenges. I'm sure, against them, this JRS 2025 annual meeting will be the most excellent showcase of cutting-edge pulmonary medicine and research ever. There are insightful learning opportunities and chances to connect with colleagues and friends throughout this event; you can't miss it!
Yes, the JRS 2025 keyword is "exchange." Our discussions create new waves of ideas. The essence of medical research is found in these hypotheses and their proofs. Please join the Tokyo International Forum meeting on-site, participate in the discussions, and challenge yourself to figure out the wonders of the lungs.
Our daily work would not be possible without the cooperation of nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists, clinical engineers, certified nutritionists, and many other healthcare professionals. The theme of this year's annual meeting is "Change now, accept it, and co-create diversity." It's time to change, cooperate with our partner academic societies in Japan and worldwide, and take in the range of views and voices from younger physicians and perspectives from around the world. Young members are more than welcome to attend on-site, and we can share the fascinating aspects of pulmonology. I believe these approaches will not only advance JRS but also directly affect more appropriate diagnoses of diseases and provide safe and reliable medical care.
If you are not able to join us in Tokyo, we encourage you to take "JRS 2025 on demand." You will then have access to most of the sessions.
Thanks to Program Committee members and staff for their dedication and encouragement. I would like to ask all of you for help in making the JRS 2025 meeting a great success. See you in Tokyo in April!
